Luminous board for pedestrian crossing
Luminous board two-side with symbol of “pedestrian crossing” cm 100x100, complying to Code of the Road.
Structure in anodized aluminum 25/10 Silver colour with front panels in thermoformed Plexiglas, 3 mm thick.
Power supply 230 V AC complete with ceiling projectors with two Sodium High Pressure lamps 70 W, small sliding window for simple inspection.
Internal lighting with four fluorescent lamps 30 W with relevant reactors (one for each lamp, in order to assure the switching on of the other reactors in case one has burnt out). Complete with stainless steel collars for fastening the board to the pole, with swinging and adjustable system, for the horizontal positioning of the board.
Available with crepuscular device of the automatic switching on at sunset. Electrical insulation Class II.
Projector waterproof IP65. Body in aluminium extrusion.
Asymmetric reflector in high purity aluminium oxidated and anodically polished. Electrical auxiliary room separate from optic room, the electric auxiliaries are fixed on removable steel plate. Shockproof transparent closing crystal fixed on aluminium frame fixed to the body with closing hooks. Silicon gaskets. Bracket in painted aluminium. Stainless steel screws. Bracket and glass holder frame painting in black colour with epoxy polyester powders.
The specific importance of asymmetric flow
The use of asymmetric reflector is necessary for having the highest safety both for pedestrians and for vehicles flow.
The luminous flux is diffused by slanting direction, and pedestrian is illuminated sideways, getting the maximum light contrast on the whole shape (and not only on upper extremities, as happens with a vertical light).
Asymmetric flux is oriented in the same direction of traffic flow, avoiding blinding glare of drivers (a danger for pedestrians who are crossing) and obtaining maximum comfort and minimum view effort for drivers.
Setting aside the kind of road, the best solution is always to use one luminous sign with asymmetric projectors for each vehicular traffic lane (for example: on one road with one lane for each traffic direction, luminous signs will be two).
The minimum recommended lighting on zebra crossing is of 100 Lux at the ground.
